The CHLI Future Leaders Conference brings together multiple congressional speakers and distinguished corporate executives in an effort to inspire and promote public service, leadership and entrepreneurship among today’s students. The conference centers on current issues affecting the Hispanic community, and the global arena.

More than 200 student interns, young professionals, congressional staffers, and community leaders are expected to attend this half-day conference and career networking luncheon.

Previous panelists have included: Jason Llorenz, Rutgers University; Ray Dempsey, Vice President of BP of America; Juan Otero, Comcast; Pablo Chavez, Director of Public Policy at Google; Joedis Avila, Community Outreach Manager for Ford Motor Company; Sarah Thorne, Senior Director of Federal Government Relations for Walmart; Chris Mustain, Vice President at The Council on Competitiveness; Sara Akbar, Director of Government Affairs at Oracle; Katie Harbath, Policy Manager, Facebook; and Howard Moon, Director of Global Government Affairs at Amgen.

Remarks by Congressional Leaders have been delivered by Former Congressman and CHLI Chairman Lincoln Diaz-Balart, CHLI Vice-Chairs, Congressmen Mario Diaz-Balart and Henry Cuellar, as well as Members of our Congressional Board of Directors: Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Congressman Albio Sires, Congressman Bill Flores, Congressman Raul Labrador, Congressman Devin Nunes, Congressman Pedro Pierluisi, and Congressman David Valadao.

The conference concludes with a Networking luncheon allowing students an opportunity to meet and interact with speakers, sponsors and leaders from corporate businesses, government departments, and non-profits. Students will have the opportunity to make career building connections and gather advice from leaders in their potential career fields.
