The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) will host its Future Leaders Conference on Friday, July 19, 2013, in Washington D.C. The Conference, themed, "Explore the World. Discover your Future!” will include the participation of experts from the public and private sectors, as well as members of Congress and representatives of Fortune 500 companies.
The CHLI Future Leaders Conference is open to high school seniors, college students and young professionals. Speakers and members of the audience will be discussing innovation and global competitiveness and will highlight the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math education (STEM). All discussions are centered on young leaders and their path to success in becoming global leaders.
The conference will feature Rep. Bill Flores, Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, Rep. Henry Cuellar, Rep. David Valadao, Rep. Albio Sires, Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Rep. Patrick Henry, and Former Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart. The "Career Compass" and "Global Entrepreneurship" panel discussions will be lead by; Howard Moon of Amgen, Juan Carlos Gutierrez of Oracle, Katie Harbath of Facebook, Peter Arapis of Ford Motor Company, Jenny Bernal of Google, Ray Dempsey of BP, and Elmy Bermejo from Department of Labor.
CHLI’s Chairman and former Member of Congress, the Honorable Lincoln Diaz-Balart will provide opening remarks for this one of a kind conference. Members of our Congressional Board of Directors will also participate. The conference starts at 9:00 a.m and concludes at 2:00 p.m. after a networking luncheon where participants will gather information on internships, financial aid, career opportunities and more. Registration is complimentary and it includes breakfast and lunch.
