This season of giving thanks, we wish to recognize a founding board member of the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) for his vision, leadership and continued commitment to the organization and the Hispanic communities we serve. A group of members of Congress and business leaders gathered to share thoughts and ideas, and in doing so founded the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute in November, 2003. CHLI's vision: "Advancing the Hispanic Community's Diversity of Thought," captured the contributions of all Hispanics, from all backgrounds, and respected their individual points of view. A vision that continues to inspire us each day.
A founding member of CHLI who continues to give his time and expertise to leading the organization is Bert Gomez, Senior Vice President of Government Relations for Univision Communications Inc. Mr. Gomez, with over 20 years of experience as a lobbyist, leads the Washington, D.C. office on issues and policies that impact the corporation, industry and the Hispanic communities across the country. An advocate for education and civic engagement, he is a guest speaker and mentor to college students in Washington, D.C. and his hometown of Miami, Florida
Thank you Bert for your leadership and staunch dedication to the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute and Hispanic Americans.
