CHLI Corporate Advisory Council Member
As Manager of U.S. Government Affairs for Baxter Healthcare, Ms. Bennett’s responsibilities include managing Congressional relationships to advance Baxter Healthcare’s business agenda, managing strategic third party relationships with minority stakeholders, developing strategic recommendations for leveraging Baxter’s brand with key constituency groups, directing Baxter’s political programs, such as Baxter’s Political Action Committee (BAXPAC), political communications and outreach initiatives, and grassroots advocacy programs. She also develops effective inclusion and diversity engagement strategies in partnership with Baxter’s minority business resource groups.
Ms. Bennett’s extensive political experience and advocacy skills provide her with
the ability to collaborate with numerous stakeholders, build and maintain respected and trusted relationships, create strategic partnerships, build winning coalitions, develop and promote grassroots issue campaigns, and organize recognition events and political fundraisers for Members of Congress.
As a well-respected and trusted professional in the political affairs profession, Ms. Bennett is a frequent speaker at national conferences. She has been a featured speaker and presented at conferences and meetings for the Public Affairs Council, National Association of Business Political Action Committees and Women in Government Relations, among others.
Ms. Bennett serves on the Board of National Association of Business Political Action Committees (NABPAC), where she advises and mentors emerging leaders to the Political Affairs profession. She also serves on the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) Corporate Advisory Council where she contributes her political expertise and resources to enrich their programs and assist the Board of Directors and staff in fulfilling the vision of CHLI. Additionally, she serves as an Industry Advisory Board Co-Chair and strategic partner to Insight America focusing on building bridges between diverse groups that will empower communities of color with policy solutions. Further, Ms. Bennett Serves on the Corporate Advisory Council for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc.; in this role she supports programs that further CBCF’s mission to advance the global black community by developing leaders, informing policy, and educating the public.
Ms. Bennett has a strong sense of civic responsibility and understands the pivotal role of mentorship and serving her community. She serves as a Board member to The Patriots Technology Training center, a nonprofit dedicated to STEM education in Prince Georges County, Maryland, and regularly volunteers as a science fair judge at local elementary schools in Maryland. She is also a chartering member of the Metropolitan Washington, DC Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc.
Ms. Bennett is a graduate of University of Maryland University College with a Bachelors of Arts in Communication.
