Washington, D.C. – The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) held its New Congress Welcome Reception on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, hosted by CHLI Treasurer John Hoel at Altria Client Services. Present at the reception were senior and new Members of Congress from both sides of the aisle, and CHLI’s Board of Directors, CHLI Advisory Council Members, national Hispanic leaders, corporate executives, international representatives, and other friends.
Washington, D.C. - The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) is honored to announce that CHLI founder, The Honorable Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, will continue to serve on the CHLI Board, and that, in addition, she will chair CHLI’s “We Belong” Scholarship Campaign.
Since the founding of CHLI in 2003, approximately 200 Hispanic college students have shared the CHLI internship or fellowship experience. The CHLI Global Leaders program provides hands-on experience to help Hispanic college students become future leaders.

Washington, D.C. - The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) is privileged to announce the appointment of two United States Senators and an additional Member of Congress to its Board of Directors, as well as three distinguished new corporate members.
Washington, D.C. – The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute’s (CHLI) President & CEO, Mary Ann Gomez Orta, was honored on January 26, 2019, with the University of the Pacific Alumni Association Distinguished Public Service Award at their 60th Annual Distinguished Alumni Awards.
CHLI Chairman, The Honorable Lincoln Díaz-Balart stated, “On behalf of CHLI, I would like to congratulate Mary Ann Gomez Orta for having received the University of the Pacific Alumni Association Distinguished Public Service Award for her extraordinary accomplishments. Mary Ann has shown constant dedication and devotion to CHLI and its mission. Hundreds of lives have been touched and forever favorably impacted by Mary Ann. Mary Ann is an exceptional human being and an admirable leader.”
The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) 2019 Spring Global Leaders kicked off orientation week at American Beverage Association. CHLI Director of Programs & External Affairs, Juan Negron, welcomed the group and introduced CHLI's team, mission, and guided them through their 15-week long fellowship program. CHLI's Creative Communication & Marketing Manager, Michelle Archilla, spoke to the group about interacting through social media and engaging with followers throughout the semester, to share their CHLI experience. They later met with CHLI Senior Advisor, Stephen Halloway, for a conversation at The World Bank.
