CHLI extends its deepest sympathies to the Bush family and loved ones. President George H.W. Bush was a consummate public servant who spent his life devoted to his family and our nation. The last World War II veteran to serve as President, his passing marks the passing of an era.
CHLI Chairman, The Honorable Lincoln Diaz-Balart shared, “Rest In Peace, George H.W. Bush, one of the greatest US Presidents. Thank you for an exemplary life.”
Washington, D.C. – On November 14, 2018, the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) held a Congressional Hill Briefing on the Value of Medicine, in Capitol Hill, Washington D.C. The CHLI Briefing series facilitates an in-depth dialogue with various perspectives on relevant legislative topics impacting the U.S. Hispanic community.
Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (FL-27) joined CHLI in giving welcoming remarks, as she concludes her historic three-decade-long Congressional career, “CHLI has impacted thousands of future Latino leaders through programs like its Congressional Hill Briefings, which provide a platform to discuss issues that impact the Hispanic community.”

Washington, D.C. - The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) held its 7th Annual Trade & International Affairs Symposium: Trade in the Americas on October 3, 2018, at Top of the Hill, in Washington, D.C. Each year, the symposium brings together international business leaders, experts on trade, members of the diplomatic community, Members of Congress, and U.S. government officials to discuss trade issues and international affairs that affect U.S. global competitiveness.
The CHLI Familia is deeply saddened by the loss of CHLI Alumna, Wendy Martinez.
Wendy was an integral part of the CHLI community. She was a dedicated CHLI Alumni Association Founder and inaugural President, who worked tirelessly along with other Alumni to formally establish the Association.
The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) kicked off orientation week with CHLI Board Member, Patrice Webb at theAmerican Beverage Association. CHLI Director of Programs & External Affairs, Juan Negron, gave welcome remarks and introduced the CHLI team and mission. Then Global Leaders met up with CHLI Senior Advisor, Stephen Halloway, who lead the interns through a tour of The World Bank.
