Heather Kennedy is the Senior Director of Government Relations at The Home Depot, the world’s largest home improvement retailer. Heather has served in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility at the Company over 17 years, currently overseeing all federal lobbying and political activity in the Washington, D.C. office. She is responsible for a portfolio of federal issues including tax, labor, healthcare, payments security and online policy, overseeing Home Depot’s engagement in Congress and across the Administration. Heather is responsible for the strategic direction of The Home Depot’s $3.2 million PAC (10th largest in the US) and grassroots programs engaging more than 400,000 employees as well as suppliers across the country.
Prior to The Home Depot, Heather was a legislative director at public affairs firms in Florida and Georgia, working in both state legislatures. Heather graduated summa cum laude from Florida State University with a BA in Business Management and is a graduate of the Women in Power program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government as well as the Public Affairs Council’s Public Affairs Institute.
Heather sits on the US Chamber of Commerce Public Affairs and Labor Relations Committees, the Georgia Chamber’s Tax and Finance Committee and serves on the Board of St. Anthony’s Day School. She lives in Arlington, Virginia with her husband Jacob and two daughters.
