Jeff Wilson currently serves as the Director of Government and Public Affairs for WPX Energy where he leads the company’s efforts fostering relationships with federal, state, local and tribal officials as well as with a broad array of regulatory bodies
Prior to WPX, Wilson served as Vice President of Government and Public Affairs at SandRidge Energy. While there, he initiated efforts to communicate broadly with the public on critical issues such as induced seismicity and water use in oil and gas operations.
From 2010 to 2014, Wilson served as the Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association. While there, he directed state and federal advocacy on behalf of Oklahoma’s independent oil and natural gas producers.
Wilson previously served o the staff of United States Senator James Inhofe and before joining OIPA, he led the One Oklahoma Coalition, a non-partisan advocacy campaign that successfully defeated State Question 744.
Wilson currently serves as a board member of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association, has served on the executive committee and board of directors of the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association and is a trustee of the Bethany Public Schools Foundation.
Wilson received his BA in Political Science and History from the University of Oklahoma and is currently pursuing a MA of Global Affairs at the same.
