Lance Mangum is a Senior Federal Affairs Representative at FedEx Corporation. As a member of the FedEx Government Affairs team since January 2010, he is responsible for helping shape, promote, and advance the legislative, public policy, and political interests of FedEx Corporation and all of its operating companies.

As one of the company’s senior lobbyists, he works with members of Congress, Administration officials, and industry associations to advance domestic and international transportation, tax, trade and security issues important to FedEx. In 2011, he was a recipient of the FedEx Five Star Award -- the highest annual recognition bestowed upon a FedEx employee.

Prior to joining FedEx, Mangum worked as the Senior Manager of Government Affairs for Capital One, a diversified financial services company. He covered a number of issues at the bank, including: financial services reform (Dodd-Frank), credit card reform, tax and postal issues.

Mangum began his political career in North Carolina, advising or working on more than 20 political and corporate issue campaigns at the federal, state and local levels in over 10 states. In 2006, he was recognized for his work and named a “Rising Star of Politics” by Campaigns and Elections magazine.

Mangum also serves on the Congressional Award Foundation Board and the North Carolina State University National Diversity Advisory Board.

He received his Master of Arts in Political Management from George Washington University in Washington, DC and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC.

A native of Yanceyville, NC, Mr. Mangum lives in Washington, DC.
