Lauren Robitaille currently serves as Director of Federal Government Relations for Walmart. She joined the company in October 2010, and is responsible for outreach to the legislative and executive branches on technology and eCommerce issues including privacy, internet security, payments and financial services. During her time at Walmart, Lauren has been actively engaged on a number of key initiatives including the Marketplace Fairness Coalition, the Merchant Payments Coalition and the Merchant- Financial Institutions Cybersecurity Partnership.
Lauren serves on the Government Relations Committees for the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and the Merchant Customer Exchange (MCX). Lauren currently serves on the board of the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI).
Prior to joining Wal-Mart, Lauren served in a number of different roles, including Legislative Director, for Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (FL-25). While serving as Legislative Director, Lauren was responsible for policy development and strategy for the Congressman and managed his legislative staff. She served as the Congressman’s key staffer for the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on which the Congressman served as a Ranking Member on the Economic Development and Emergency Management Subcommittee. Additionally, Lauren was responsible for the tax, trade, finance, labor and healthcare portfolios.
Lauren resides in Washington, DC but was born and raised in Florida. She attended the University of Florida graduating with a degree in Political Science with minors in Business Administration and International Affairs. Lauren is passionate about traveling, fishing, reading and food and wine.
