Washington, D.C. - The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) will hold forums across the country as part of its Pillars of Progress tour. The tour will kick off at the Los Angeles City Club in Los Angeles, California, on August 29, 2017, and continue on to San Antonio, Texas, and then wrap up in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Each year, CHLI recognizes two outstanding senior Congressional Staff members, a Republican and a Democrat, for their service and dedication to their constituents and the Hispanic Community.

CHLI’s Briefing included bipartisan Congressional remarks from CHLI Chairman, The Honorable Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Senator Robert Menendez (NJ), Senator Marco Rubio (FL), Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (FL), and Congressman Carlos Curbelo (FL).
CHLI Partners with National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Association (NMSHSA)
Washington, D.C – The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) held a Congressional Briefing on Corporate Tax Reform and U.S. Global Competitiveness, on June 27, 2017, on Capitol Hill. The briefing is part of the CHLI Congressional Briefing Series, which aims to facilitate an in-depth dialogue with various perspectives on relevant legislative topics impacting the U.S. Hispanic community.
CHLI Highlights Board Member Joe Avila for #ImmigrantHeritageMonth
Washington, D.C. - The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) is proud to announce its newfound partnership with the National Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Association (NMSHSA), a division of the Head Start organization which focuses on providing resources such as education, healthcare, and childcare to agricultural migrant workers and their families.
CHLI Highlights Alumni Michael Monrroy and Dominique Espinoza for #ImmigrantHeritageMonth
In celebration of #ImmigrantHeritageMonth, this week we are highlighting Joe Avila, Manager at Ford Motor Company Fund. Joe and his family moved to the United States from Maracaibo, Venezuela in 1999. After three attempts, he attained a grant through a competitive student graduate program that allowed him to obtain his U.S. student visa and attend the University of Denver.

This week the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) is highlighting two CHLI Alumni for #ImmigrantHeritageMonth, Michael Monrroy, class of 2010, and Dominique Espinoza, class of 2017. Read about their heritage below.
To kick off #ImmigrantHeritageMonth, we are highlighting Congressman David Valadao (CA-21) and his family, who came to the United States from the Azores Island of Portugal in 1969. The Valadao family settled in the Central Valley, where they established a small dairy farm. Born in 1977, David Valadao attended local schools and grew up on his parent’s dairy farm.
