Nicolas Perez Stable was Vice President & Counsel at GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), the U.S. and Irish commercial aircraft financing and leasing business of GE. GECAS has a fleet of over 1,800 owned and managed aircraft valued at over $49 billion with approximately 245 airlines in over 75 countries. At GECAS, Nicolas is primarily responsible for negotiating and administering leasing and financing transactions with commercial airlines, including operating leases, acquisitions, sales and restructuring.

Nicolas is also active in government relations efforts in the aviation industry and the Hispanic community, including appearances before Members of Congress, Congressional committees, the F.A.A., O.M.B., D.O.T. and other U.S. and foreign government agencies. As Co-Leader of the GE Hispanic Forum’s External Outreach Initiative (a company-wide appointment made in 2009) Nicolas works to strengthen the ties of GE’s Hispanic employees to community organizations and government officials by promoting policy issues that affect Hispanics through scholarship and grant programs, community service initiatives and special events related to education. Nicolas also serves as the GE Developing Health City Champion for New York City, coordinating volunteer engagement and grant administration at four local community health centers.

Nicolas was recently recognized as a Regional Finalist for the White House Fellows Program and named a Young Hispanic Corporate Achiever™ by the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR). Nicolas is a GE Six Sigma Green Belt and has also received various awards of distinction for championing diversity initiatives, as well as, managing outside counsel budgets, executing complex transactions and completing troubled asset sales. Prior to joining GE, Mr. Stable worked in the New York office of White & Case LLP concentrating on international financial transactions (mostly in Latin America), including project finance, aircraft and equipment leasing and finance, capital markets transactions, privatizations, and debt restructuring.

He is member of the bar of the State of New York, the American Bar Association’s Forum on Air & Space Law and the Americas Society / Council of the Americas. He also serves on the Corporate Advisory Boards of the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) and the Cuban American National Council (CNC).

Nicolas graduated cum laude, with distinction, from Duke University in 1998 and received his law degree from New York University School of Law in 2001.
