Director of Programs &
Nina Roque serves as the Director of Programs & External Affairs for the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI). Prior to joining CHLI, Nina was an Associate at Hedrick Gardner Kincheloe & Garofalo, LLP, where she represented and defended employers and insurance companies in workers’ compensation claims. Nina also served as a Law Clerk for a quasi-judicial agency in the State of North Carolina. She is a proud alum of CHLI’s Future Leaders Program, which afforded her the opportunity to intern for CHLI Chairman and Former Congressman, Lincoln Diaz-Balart.
Nina earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Criminology from Florida State University (FSU). While at FSU, Nina represented her peers as the President of the Cuban-American Student Association. She also holds a Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Board and the Director of Public Relations for the Federalist Society.
Nina is a second generation Cuban-American and is fluent in Spanish. She grew up in Miami, Florida, and travels back there often to spend time with her family and friends. In her spare time, Nina volunteers with the Junior League and enjoys spending time with her puppy, Pepe.
